12-Month Opportunity at McMaster Student Wellness Centre

The Student Wellness Centre (SWC) at McMaster University is looking for a family physician to join their interdisciplinary team for 28 hours/week for 12-months starting end of January 2026. The successful candidate will cover 4 days per week: 9:00-5:00PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and 1:00-8:00PM on Wednesdays.
The SWC is a busy clinic seeing over 50,000 visits per year and they are seeking a candidate who enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidates will contribute to the overall health and well-being of McMaster University’s diverse student population.
The interdisciplinary team at McMaster’s SWC includes 17 part time doctors who are fee for service and report to the Medical Lead. The Centre also receives support from nurses (RNs & RPNs), counsellors, mental health nurses, and 3 psychiatrists who all work together to support the students. The practice also receives full administrative support from 6 experienced medical receptionists who handle all bookings, referrals, and patient booking reminders. Typical practice hours at the SWC are Monday to Thursday from 9:00-8:00PM and Friday from 9:00-5:00PM with no weekend or holiday work required.
The centre typically schedules 9 physicians per day, with each physician having access to two exams rooms and a private office.
The successful candidates will receive payment through Fee-for-Service, as well as a $200 stipend for working 5:00-8:00PM and a $20 stipend for medical notes. Parking expenses are covered by the clinic.
