Opportunity

à Sault Ste. Marie is seeking two full-time FRCP Anesthesiologists and or GPAs to join our group of 9 physicians and 2 Anesthesia Assistants.  A fellowship in pain medicine is an asset.  Our surgical program performs 5200 surgeries per year and supports 5 - 6 operating rooms daily.  Services include General, Vascular, Orthopedic, OB/Gyn, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology and Dental. An Anesthesia Consultation Clinic is in place.   On average labour and delivery perform 900 deliveries yearly and there is an active epidural service.

à Affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) provides the opportunity to teach residents and medical students.  Faculty appointments are encouraged.  Research is supported by the Sault Ste. Marie Academic Medical Association.

License & Eligibility

à Candidates must be fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RSCPC) or exam eligible and hold or be eligible for an independent practice license with the (CPSO).  GPAs must have additional training in Anaesthesia and have an independent license to practice in Ontario.

Remuneration

à Remuneration is attractive and competitive.  Call stipends are available with shared call.

Locum Opportunity

à SAH is in URGENT need of ongoing locum support to cover on call services. Candidates must hold an independent practice license and be a fellow of RCPSC. Generous compensation is provided by Ontario Health Northern Specialist Locum Program and on call funding.
