Anesthesia Locum Required in Kirkland Lake

Located 6.5 hours north of Toronto in beautiful Northeastern Ontario, Blanche River Health has two hospital sites located in Kirkland Lake and Englehart, just 35 minutes apart. Our locum anesthesiologist will be compensated through the Northern Specialists Locum Program (NSLP). Your week will vary from a minor lumps and bumps clinic to regular general surgery cases and will include providing after hours on-call services alongside our general surgeon. 

The Kirkland Lake site has 42 medical/ surgical beds plus 4 ICU beds and 2 step-down beds, and the Englehart site has 26 medical/surgical beds In addition to a core staff of dedicated and caring professionals, we offer physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, 24 hour emergency departments, inpatient units, general surgery, anaesthesia, visiting specialists, a diagnostic imaging department with a CT scanner, laboratory services, pharmacy (with onsite chemo mixing), a satellite oncology clinic (via OTN through HSN), mental health supports and a non-urgent patient transfer service.

Local accommodations provided within a 5-minute drive from the hospital plus there are 2 comfortable layover rooms within hospital for use overnight if required (coffee included!)
