Job Description
Huron Shores Family Health Organization (HSFHO) and the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) are seeking 2 family physicians to join their experienced health care team to provide comprehensive coverage. With a progressive practice and generous incentives, you and your family can enjoy all that the north shore has to offer.
Practice medicine in a friendly town full of outdoor recreational opportunities. Blind River is a beautiful community located on the North Shores of Lake Huron, with a summer population of approximately 6000. Huron Shores Family Health Organization is currently looking for 2 physicians to join our group.
The clinic is home to 6 family physicians and supported by a Family Health Team. The FHT consists of a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, 2 RPN’s, a Social Worker, Dietitian, Diabetic Educator, a chiropodist, physiotherapist, geriatric assessor and knowledgeable support staff.
Many FHT programs are in place to support the community including women’s health, palliative care, and caregiver support group for newborns.
Located adjacent to the Blind River Hospital, physicians at HSFHO provide coverage in the emergency department, acute care in patient unit as part of the hospitalist program and attend patients in Golden Birches, the LTC facility attached to the Blind River hospital.
Mentorship opportunities with our experienced physicians are available to ease the transition into a full-service practice.
The successful candidate will hold a Medical Degree and completion of a Family Medicine Residency program from a recognized University, and be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Compensation and Incentives Include:
- Family Health Organization Payment Model (Blended Capitation)
- Emergency department : AFA at competitive rate
- Hospitalist program: stipend plus FFS
- $6,000 in relocation assistance or $100,000 interest free loan
- $1,000 per month for the first six months of practice in housing incentives
- $10,000 signing bonus paid out over 5 years
- Community eligibility of $120,064 grant (Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative), paid over four years by the MOH
- Free Community Assessment Visit
*All programs, incentives, and rates are subject to change according to the MOH.
*There is also an option for clinic only practice with partial incentives available.
