Program Highlights:

• CKHA operates two 24/7 Emergency Departments at sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg with annual visits that are approximately 40,000 and 15,000 visits respectively. 
• ED staff work a combination of main shifts in Chatham, rapid assessment shifts in Chatham, and shifts in Wallaceburg. Chatham shifts are double coverage while Wallaceburg is single coverage. 
• Physicians are responsible for admission orders from 5pm-8am.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Shifts range from 8-12 hours long
• Work 1-12 shifts per month
• No minimum commitment required
• The ED has an AFA (alternative funding plan) that pays between $204 to $235 per hour. 
• Physicians will receive shadow billings on top of the hourly rate
• Shadow billings in Chatham are 37% and shadow billings in Wallaceburg is 10% , except on holidays where it is 25%
• If you cover a Call shift you will get $547.32, just for putting your name on the schedule.

• 24- hour laboratory and respiratory therapy services
• Internal Medicine, ENT, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Urology and OB/GYN
• Palliative care nurses, physical therapists and Psychiatric Assessment Nurses (PAN)
• ACLS, ATLS and PALS training offered in-house 
• Mentorship program for new graduates
• CPSO Supervision for international graduates

Critical Care Associate Program Highlights:

·      12-bed Level III ICU and 12-bed PCU

·      Provide overnight support to the Intensivist/Internist who is on-call for ICU/PCU by acting as the first call for the unit, with immediate available support from the on-call Intensivist/Internist physician

·      The Intensivist/Internist on-call will remain as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP)

·      In order to support timely intervention as needed, you will be expected to remain on-site overnight
