Job Description

EMERGENCY MEDICINE OPPORTUNITIES at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering, Bowmanville, Port Perry or Oshawa

We are currently inviting applications for permanent full and part-time Emergency Medicine Physicians to join a congenial team providing care in Durham Region with hospital privileges at Lakeridge Health sites including Ajax, Bowmanville, Oshawa and Port Perry. While one of these hospitals will be your "primary" locations, you may be required to work at our other hospital sites. Physicians enjoy flexible scheduling and extensive specialty and subspecialty consultation services. These emergency departments range in volume from a small community ED, to a moderate sized ED, to a large, very high volume urban ED. There is a dedicated ED education team providing ongoing quality Continuing Medical Education. Remuneration is based on a fee-for-service billing system (Oshawa) and AFA (Ajax-Pickering, Bowmanville and Port Perry). The anticipated compensation range is $350,000 - $500,000.

You will have teaching opportunities through the Lakeridge Health partnership with Queen’s University, for those interested and qualified. Lakeridge Health offers many administrative options for those interested in pursuing physician leadership positions.

The candidate must hold FRCPC certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or CCFP(EM) certification in Emergency Medicine or significant experience appropriate to the ED and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Language of work: English. The position start date is negotiable.
