Family Physician Opportunity

Our client, an innovative and comprehensive referral and teaching hospital located in Northern Ontario, is seeking a full-time Family Physician to join their dedicated team. This role offers a chance to contribute to a healthcare organization renowned for its commitment to outstanding, patient-centered care. Physicians will thrive in a collaborative environment that prioritizes trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, supporting the hospital's mission to Deliver Exceptional Care to Northern Communities. Our client is affiliated with NOSM University, as well as several colleges and universities in Ontario, and actively supports learning opportunities for medical residents, post-secondary students, and high school students.

Highlights of the Role

Family Physicians with our client enjoy a flexible practice with variety. As a Family Practitioner in Timmins, you have the flexibility to work within a Family Health Team (FHT) or a Community Health Centre (CHC), with opportunities to engage in multiple hospital and community disciplines, including:

  • Hospitalist
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Addictions Medicine
  • Obstetrics/Gynecology
  • Geriatrics
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Stroke Call
  • Surgical Assist
  • Teaching/mentoring medical students and residents from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University (NOSM University)

Qualifications

  • Certification (or eligibility for certification) with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Family Physician in the Province of Ontario.
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage (or eligibility to obtain).
  • A commitment to working within and optimizing an interdisciplinary team.

Remuneration

  • Fee-for-Service
  • Hourly Wage
  • Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan

Incentives

  • Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
  • Eligibility for a repayable, interest-free loan up to $150,000.
  • Opportunity to apply for the Ministry of Health’s Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R), which includes an $84,718 incentive over four years for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.
