Job Description

The Opportunity

South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre (SEOCHC) is a non-profit, community-governed organization that provides a wide range of multidisciplinary services, including primary care, health promotion, social services, community development, home support, and advocacy to address the social determinants of health. We focus on improving the health and well-being of people in South-East Ottawa, especially those who face barriers to accessing care. At the heart of our service delivery model are our shared commitment to equity and social justice, whole person health, community collaboration, heart-driven integrity and evidence-informed excellence.

Our talented and passionate team at SEOCHC makes a real and tangible impact on the lives of the residents in our community. We collaborate to deliver best-in-class care and are excited to expand our Primary Care team. This position will accept an established roster of patients as well as have opportunity to roster new patients.

We are currently inviting applications for a 0.7 full-time equivalent Family Physician (28 hours a week). The target start date for this position is August 2026.

We are committed to flexibility and welcome proposals for alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for working from home hours depending on the chosen schedule.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to practice medicine without the administrative burden of running a business.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and interdisciplinary environment with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
  • A diverse and engaged patient population reflecting the richness of our community.
  • Quintuple Aim focused: improved workforce well-being and enhanced provider well-being through integrated and team-based approaches.
  • Digital tools to support workflows such as AI Scribe, Ocean pathways and intentional features within our electronic medical record system (Telus PS Suites);
  • Student-learner driven: supportive opportunities to teach medical students and residents.
  • Both face-to-face and virtual visits, including some evening and weekend clinics.
  • Competitive salary $159.73 – $185.46 per hour
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including HOOPP (pension plan), generous paid leaves, and professional development opportunities. Clinicians are encouraged to take the time to truly disconnect thanks to our team-based approach to patient-care.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in a Community Health Centre (CHC) model that applies a health equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression lens.

What You Bring:

  • Licensed to practice as a Family Physician by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Experience in primary care, with a strong understanding of community health and the social determinants of health.
  • Commitment to working with diverse and multicultural populations, including newcomers, uninsured individuals, and those with complex health needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or other languages representing our community (e.g., Arabic, Somali) is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse interprofessional team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Successful completion of a Police Record Check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
