The community of Weyburn, located in Southeast Saskatchewan is actively recruiting a locum family medicine physician with enhanced anesthesia skills to support anesthesia needs in Weyburn starting in November 2026 for a period of six months at least. In addition to providing 1-2 days/week of anesthesia services, the successful candidate has the opportunity to provide additional services such as community primary health care, inpatient and long-term care, emergency room. As a member of the surgical services team, the candidate will provide their equitable share of on call for anesthesia services in a 1:3 rotation .Weyburn General Hospital in Weyburn is a fully accredited Hospital with one operating theater, a 24-hour emergency room, an inpatient unit, a diagnostic imaging department. The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for Family Physician-Anesthesia certification with the College of Family Physicians of CanadaSuccessful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of SaskatchewanAcceptable enhanced training in anesthesia (i.e. 3rd-year residency in family practice anesthesia)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)Valid driver’s licenceSuccessful Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) credentialing including but not limited to acceptable reference checks and criminal record check with vulnerable sectorCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverageLegal entitlement to work in Canada
