About the TADH’s Internal Medicine Department:

• Our Critical Care Unit is a 6-bed level 2 advanced intensive care unit that serves the community of Timmins as well as our District Partners. It is an open unit where general surgeons, anesthesia, and pediatricians have admitting privileges to the ICU. We have the capability of transvenous pacing, ventilation, and dialysis within the unit. There is a multidisciplinary team available, with Nursing, Respiratory Therapist 24/7, Social Work, Dieticians, Speech, and Physiotherapists . TADH provides excellent on-site diagnostics including CT and MRI.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Internists will cover on-call, care for ICU patients, and provide consults for the hospital and district. Locum length is 7 days total, Monday to Monday.

• In addition to being MRP for ICU patients, locums also have the opportunity to do an Internal Medicine outpatient clinic, stress tests, MIBIs, and read ECGs and PFTs.
  
  

Remuneration:

• Compensation is a combined daily rate of $2,330 per day (NSLP daily honorarium, NSLP on-call stipend, and TADH HOCC stipend)
• Expenses are supported through the Northern Specialist Locum Program including flights (or mileage), accommodations, car rental, and a travel honorarium.

• Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is a 215-bed district hospital serving a local population of 44,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. TADH is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care and Mental Health services. Affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), there is plenty of opportunity for teaching medical students and residents.
