Headwaters Health Care Centre is a community hospital operating as an acute and complex continuing care facility, offering both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as an Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage.  With over 700 staff and over 160 physicians, the hospital is accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada.  Located in Orangeville, Ontario, we are at the heart of medical services for the Greater Dufferin area and other surrounding counties.  Our small town offers great opportunities for outdoor recreation, many thriving shops and restaurants, and lots of small-town charm.  We are conveniently located one hour from downtown Toronto.

Full-time and Locum positions are available in Orangeville for General Internal Medicine.  We are a group of five General Internal Medicine specialists supporting a catchment area of 100,000, at a hospital with 86 beds. 

As an internist at Headwaters, our current model has you participating in call rotation, doing emergency room consults, admissions, and ward work.  You will cover a Level-two 4 bed ICU, with roughly 40 ventilator patients per year.  Call is from home with expectation of availability at the hospital within 60 minutes of telephone contact.  We have an onsite hospitalist program, nephrology with dialysis, diabetic care, and operate an outpatient oncology program through a long-standing partnership with our oncology partners at William Osler Health System.  We have excellent relationships with referring centers for intensive care, stroke, and cardiology however, with no cardiologist or respirologists on staff at Headwaters, a general internist can work at full scope. We also perform a wide range of bedside procedures.
