Responsibilities:

Conduct an initial assessment of patients’ mental health needs.

Provide psychotherapy consultation sessions for predominantly OHIP-insured patients

Order pre- and post-consultation testing as appropriate

Develop, implement and conduct specialized psychotherapy programs such as CBT, Mindfulness, etc. in accordance with the physician’s qualifications

Prepare relevant, evidence-based assessments, diagnoses and recommendations for treatment plans and/or follow-up

Complete specialist referrals and prescribe medications as required

Comply with all requisite protocols to ensure complete and accurate record-keeping in accordance with regulatory requirements and professional best practices

Complete and document all continuing education activities necessary to maintain competence and credentialing

Qualifications:

Physician licensed and in good standing with the CPSO, eligible to bill OHIP for insured services

CMPA or equivalent professional insurance coverage valid in the province of Ontario

Training, experience and/or credentials in psychotherapy and/or one or more of its subspecialties
