Position Overview
Mackenzie Health is currently recruiting an Obstetrician/Gynecologist Generalist. The Physician will work in collaboration with the other members of the Department to perform all professional duties. The physician will participate in shared OB and GYN call. Physician will have access to elective OR days per month, acute GYN clinic and state of the art equipment at both sites.

Competencies:
The Physician must demonstrate the following competencies:

Complete appropriate assessments of patients with resources available.
Subspecialty training in colposcopy an asset
Comply with the call schedule established by the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology to ensure that Hospital services are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Be available for consultation with professional colleagues during inpatient days.
Participate in quality improvement projects within the department.
Participate in staff and departmental meetings.
Maintain clinical acumen and skills within scope of practice.
Demonstrate excellence in clinical care.
Abide by the Professional Staff By-Law and Professional Staff Rules of the Hospital and the Public Hospital Act and other applicable legislation.
Demonstrate understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding program plans, policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients.

Strong clinical and operative gynecologic skills

Education – Certification – Licenses
Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology as recognized by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent as recognized by the Provincial Licensing Body required.
Canadian Medical Protection Association in good standing.

HOCC for on-call
