We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate international medical graduates with a passion for oncology to join our team. Through our unique in-house training program, successful candidates will receive training in oncology and specific disease sites. The Oncology Assistant will work under the supervision of oncologists for the care of Adult Medical, Radiation Oncology and Hematology out-patients through investigations, symptomatic management and coordination of ancillary services and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will collaborate with oncologists in the evaluation of out-patient new consultations, follow-ups and patients on treatment. You will work in a shared care model in a specific area of Oncology or Hematology and work directly with this area, in collaboration with an oncologist. You will obtain patient history, perform physical examinations, evaluate results of diagnostic blood tests and imaging scans, perform toxicity assessments, write common prescriptions, and continue systematic therapy, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and endocrine therapy. You will work under the supervision of a qualified oncologist/hematologist, and spend one year training in this model of care. At the end of this year of training, you will begin practising more independently while remaining under the supervision of a qualified oncologist.

A medical degree from a university listed in either the WHO or FAIMER directoryMust have passed Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam Part 1Passed English proficiency exam required by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of SaskatchewanCurrent ACLS or an equivalent program in resuscitation appropriate for the physician’s domain of practiceMembership and licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan as an Oncology AssistantCurrent criminal record check
