Job Description
About the Opportunity
Join a tight-knit, welcoming community in Northeastern Ontario where your skills and compassion will make a powerful difference. In our community, nearly 60% of residents are currently without a family physician, leading to a significant gap in primary healthcare services. As a family physician, you will play a critical role in improving health outcomes, reducing emergency department reliance, and restoring continuity of care for individuals and families.
This is more than just a job – it’s a calling to serve where you’re truly needed. Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced physician seeking meaningful work, you will find both professional fulfillment and lifestyle balance here.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care to a diverse population.
Develop longitudinal care relationships with patients across all life stages.
Participate in the management of chronic diseases, preventative care, and minor procedures.
Collaborate with hospital and emergency department colleagues for inpatient care and coverage (if applicable).
Work with allied health professionals and community partners to support a team-based care approach. (FHT)
What We Offer
A supportive, flexible, and collegial working environment.
- Payment model through a Family Health Organization (FHO)
Financial incentives for rural and remote practice (up to 200,00$ in grants and up to 200,000$ in 0% loans)
Relocation assistance and potential housing options.
Opportunity to shape your own practice (office-based, ER, inpatient mix depending on your interest).
Professional autonomy and a strong sense of purpose.
Outdoor lifestyle: enjoy hiking, canoeing, fishing, snowmobiling, and a true connection to nature.
Qualifications
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice in Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP) preferred.
Interest in rural generalist medicine, including ER or hospital work (if applicable).
