Position Title: Pediatric Physician

Division: ByWard Family Health Team (BWFHT)

Job Status: FT/PT Contract

ByWard Family Health (BWFHT) offers the general public a comprehensive range of services. We are looking for a specialized pediatric physician to join our comprehensive primary health care team. The pediatric physician will focus on providing care ranging from routine/primary care to acute care and consultation services. You will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the ByWard Family Health Team.  

Responsibilities:

* Conduct regular thorough examinations on newborns and young children to check and record their health and normal physical development

* Examine sick children to determine their condition to gather information about symptoms

* Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history

* Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration

* Advise parents on children’s diet, exercise, and disease-preventive measures

* Keep updated records of patients’ illnesses, surgeries, or other medical episodes

Essential Qualifications: Degree in medicine

* Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

* Experience providing care to pediatric patients  

* Knowledge of children’s epidemiology and infectious diseases

* Knowledge of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation principles and techniques

* Knowledge of medication appropriate for children and their side-effects

* Excellent communication skills

* Medical Degree with specialization in pediatrics

* Willing and ready to work flexible hours

* Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
