10-month Locum Opportunity in Waterdown

A FHO/FHT physician practicing within a 7-member group is in search of a locum to cover a parental leave December 2025-September 2026. Working 4.5 days per week, the locum will be providing care for a roster of ~1,800 patients at a practice that typically sees 20 patients per day (both virtual and in-person). The office offers flexibility in working hours, although one day/week the locum will need to work until 7:00PM.

The practice is supported by an experienced team of administrative staff including an office administrator, a secretary, 5 receptionists, a billing clerk and a referrals clerk. As part of the Hamilton Family Health Team the practice also receives extensive allied health support from 5 registered nurses, a dietitian, a chiropodist, a clinical pharmacist, 2 social workers and a psychiatrist who provides in-person coverage at the practice 2 days every other week. The clinic typically supports both residents and medical students several times each year.

The practice is in a newly built ~9,000 sq. foot space in the fast-growing town of Waterdown.  The building is also home to a pharmacy and audiologist on the main floor and additional medical tenants on the 2nd floor. Each physician in the group has access to 2 patient exam rooms and a separate dedicated workstation in the physician lounge. The space also includes a large kitchen and conference room, separate staff and patient washrooms, and ample free parking for both patients and staff. The office is fully digital, with patient records managed through Telus EMR, Ocean for e-referrals, and Pomelo patient messaging system.

The locum will be reimbursed at a rate of $600 per half day (plus 100% of shadow billing, third party billings, WSIB) which includes 1 hour of administrative time per day.
