Role Overview:
As a Pain Care Physician at our organization, you will provide specialized medical care to patients suffering from conditions resulting in acute to chronic pain. You will be responsible for assessing and treating pain through a variety of methods, including medication management, interventional procedures, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Your goal will be to improve the quality of life for patients by reducing pain and enhancing their functional abilities. We offer varied opportunities, including.

Key Responsibilities: (varies depending on role)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with chronic pain to determine the underlying causes and appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Perform interventional pain procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and other minimally invasive techniques.
- Perform diagnostic EMG testing and nerve conduction studies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, psychologists, and occupational therapists, to provide a holistic approach to pain management.
- Educate patients and their families about pain management strategies and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay current with advancements in pain management practices.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in Ontario and/or Alberta. (Or other provinces if interested)
- Board certification in Pain Medicine or relevant specialty. (Ontario). Or change of scope.
- Experience in pain management or a related field is an asset.
- Proficiency in performing interventional pain procedures.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
