Job Description

St. Martha's Regional Hospital (SMRH), located in Antigonish, has an opportunity for an Anesthesiologist to join the team. The full complement at the site is (4) four.  This facility serves a population of nearly 75,000 from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities. This opportunity provides you the experience of working with a collegial team of anesthesiologists and surgeons in a community regional hospital.  Opportunity exists to engage in research and/or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest.  St. Martha's Regional Hospital is approximately a 94-bed, acute care facility with more than 80 physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties and sub-specialties, and a robust primary-care group in the community. Join Nova Scotia's thriving healthcare ecosystem, where your expertise is valued and your contributions drive innovative, compassionate care for generations to come.

Responsibilities

  • duties include full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist providing care to patients within the eastern zone and participating in call
  • the physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Anesthesia for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority. 
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.

  • Permanent Full-Time
  • Call 1:4
