Job Description
The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network is inviting applications for the position of Associate Cardiovascular Surgeon at the Toronto General Hospital. The selected candidate may be eligible for a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The effective date of this appointment is flexible, tentatively aiming for Spring/Summer 2026.
The successful candidate would have experience in all aspects of cardiac surgical care, and specifically in the care of patients with advanced heart failure. The candidate would be responsible for the cannulation and decannulation of patients requiring extracorporeal support and for the retrieval of organs for the heart transplant program. The applicant should have a track record of exemplary clinical results and professionalism.
The appointment at UHN would be for an Associate Surgeon position. The candidate would be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate should be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

The Division of Cardiovascular Surgery is comprised of 7 full-time clinical faculty members and offers the entire breadth of cardiac surgery, including reconstructive valve surgery, aortic surgery, advanced heart failure, and adult congenital surgery.
