Covenant Health invites applications for a Part-Time Geriatric Psychiatrist to be based primarily at Community Wellness Centre - Lakewood in Edmonton, Alberta. Locum inpatient coverage will also be available on a flexible basis, which would be located at the Villa Caritas Hospital. Villa Caritas is an acute mental health facility dedicated to supporting seniors with complex mental health and medical needs. The facility offers timely, specialized interventions with a focus on stabilizing conditions and facilitating safe transitions - either back home or to a more appropriate care setting. Villa Caritas operates in partnership with Covenant Health’s Community Geriatric Psychiatry Program, which provides ongoing support and follow-up care for seniors living with mental illness in the community. 

Multiple candidates may be selected to fill this position. 0.5 FTE is negotiable at time of hire.

Required:

·         MD or equivalent.

·         Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

·         Certification in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

·         Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.

·         Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment.

·         Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
