 Health Sciences North (HSN) is recruiting health care professionals who have a keen interest in affecting change within its dynamic health care system. As the tertiary care referral centre for the entire Northeastern Ontario region, HSN serves a catchment population of over 600,000 residents.

 HSN is seek­ing energetic and dedicated Cardiovascular Surgeon Locums to maintain a team of three surgeons. The team is searching for candidates who have an enthusiastic approach to quality patient care, undergraduate/postgraduate education, and possibly active clinical research. The locum candidates will share 1-in-3 call responsibilities and ensure seamless coverage for the region.

Candidates must be eligible for independent licensure in Ontario, and have obtained or be eligible to obtain specialty qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. US trained applicants will also be considered. The successful candidates will benefit from remuneration based on Fee-for-Service billings, as well as, financial incentives for working in Northern Ontario through the Health Force Ontario’s Northern Specialist Locum Program.

All physicians practicing at HSN are encouraged to obtain a faculty appointment with NOSM-University (NOSM-U) and support the academic mandate of their department. Research opportunities are also available through the Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI).
