Job Description
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and Chief of Psychiatry, the clinical psychologist will provide expertise and guidance related to psychological services including evidence-based assessment, treatment and consultation services to the Mental Health and Addiction Program. Experience and registration in adult assessment and diagnosis is key. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Psychiatry, Nurses and Social Workers. This position offers a positive, collaborative work environment with flexible hours and competitive remuneration and reimbursement of travel costs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Casual contractor 2 to 5 days a month.
- Administer psychological tests for assessment
- Interpret test results
- Examine and assess behavior to diagnose behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders
- Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behavior and mental health processes
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide diagnosis and recommendations for ongoing treatment.
- Preparing reports, developing and communicating client-centered treatment plans
Position Requirements:
- Minimum one year post-doctoral clinical experience
- Experience completing psychological assessments with adults presenting with mental health and addictions, attention, and/or learning challenges.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for Concurrent Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders
- Knowledge of current evidence based instruments
- Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Commitment to client care, team work and professional development
- Ph. D.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Psychologist of Ontario
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Declared competency in assessment services for adults
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
