Job Description
Welcome to Waterloo Regional Health Network, Midtown and Queen's Blvd. in Kitchener Ontario!
A large and collegial group of CCFP(EM) + FRCPC EMs staffs these two busy community EDs. CERNER EMR seamlessly links data between both hospitals. Competitive AFA compensation + P4R Funding Support. Full service hospitals with essentially every service to back you up locally except trauma and neurosurgery, which are criticalled out. ED friendly policies ensure you get timely call backs from specialists! Strong Allied Health team in each ED to support timely patient disposition.
We see a broad range of patients, including renal, oncology and trauma. We're a busy place and our 8 hour shifts usually fly by. We're teaching site for McMaster Med School and have lots of opportunities for teaching, SIM development, research and administrative roles if you're interested.
KW is a great city and one of the fastest developing regions in the country. We have a high density of young professional families (2 universities, large IT sector, etc) and we find that younger doctors are particularly attracted to the area. Equitable schedule developed by Metric-Aid (preference-based scheduling system). Multiple "nocturnists" mean rest of us work fewer nights, half-night "casino" shifts also available. If you are a nocturnist, you are especially welcome!
Looking for locum, PT or FT (or locum leading to permanent placement).
CCFP with significant experience (e.g. SEME program at U of T), CCFP(EM), FRCPC welcome
