Description/Duties

Average of 25 emergency department visits within a 24-hour period
Inpatient unit average is 10-15 inpatients (mostly ALC)
Emergency department physician covers the inpatient unit overnight and on weekends
Shifts are 24 hours from 08:00 to 08:00
Many of our locums book consecutive days as there is an opportunity to properly rest overnight

Remuneration/Billing

$200 per hour, plus 9.65% shadow billing
Quick turnaround time for stipend payments via direct deposit


Accommodations

Accommodations are provided in one of our fully furnished houses, two minutes from the hospital, all professionally cleaned before and after your stay



Travel

Travel is reimbursed by the hospital (flight/car rental/gas OR mileage if driving your vehicle)

Blanche River Health has two hospital sites located in Kirkland Lake and Englehart only 35 minutes apart.

The Englehart site of Blanche River Health is a 26-bed facility that provides primary care services in a rural community with a catchment area of approximately 8,000 residents. In addition to a core staff of dedicated and caring professionals, we offer physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, an emergency department, inpatient unit, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, and a non-urgent patient transfer service.

Our Kirkland Lake site has 42 medical/surgical beds plus 4 ICU beds and 2 step-down beds, 24 hour emergency department, general surgery, anesthesia, visiting specialists, diagnostic imaging department with a CT scanner, laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy (with on-site chemo mixing), a satellite oncology clinic (via OTN through HSN), mental health, palliative care, CCAC, victim services and VCC.
