The Division of Family Medicine at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital is seeking family medicine hospitalist physicians to join a great collegial and supportive team!

Responsibilities include: Inpatient care on our medicine, rehab, integrated stroke, and ALC units, and call.

Physicians benefit from 24-hour support from internal medicine, intensive care, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, paediatrics, anesthesia, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, otolaryngology, and radiology. Diagnostic imaging on site includes Ultrasound, CT and MRI.

Considering our proximity to Kingston, and the Belleville-Quinte Family Medicine Program, many physicians are affiliated with Queen's University as Assistant Professors and regularly participate in resident training.

There may be opportunities for emergency medicine work. There are also opportunities in the area for clinic locums, OR assist, coroners work and more.

Opportunities exist to combine work with community practice in one of the local FHOs. The Belleville Family Physician Recruitment Program offers medical students up to $150,000 in return for a five-year commitment of full-time service to a community practice and hospitalist work is encouraged.

Hospitalist work at BGH bills $10,000-15,000/week (7 days, with 2-3 calls), which includes a stipend as well as all FFS billings.

Quinte Health

Quinte Health has 1,800 staff members and 320 medical staff who provide a wide range of high quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Care is provided through four hospitals – Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospitals – and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, inpatient services (including acute medicine, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery), a rehabilitation day hospital, children's treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.

The Quinte area is in south-eastern Ontario. Our hospitals are located in Belleville, Picton, Quinte West (includes Trenton and Brighton), and Bancroft. The area includes some of the most diverse and beautiful countryside in Ontario. From the lakes of Bancroft down to the wine country, picturesque towns, and Sandbanks beach of Prince Edward County, and through the more urban Belleville/Quinte West/Brighton corridor alongside Lake Ontario, almost every lifestyle interest can be found within the communities served by Quinte Health. Belleville and Quinte West are located along the highway 401 corridor, and Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Kingston are all easy driving distance.
