Blended Capitation

Independent contract with a competitive weekly remuneration value for a 7-day week of adult ID service (contract).

Blended: FFS plus stipend or locum contract

Fee-for-Service. Anticipated salary range: $350,000–$450,000 based on minimum 40 hours/week; payment per agreements between the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and the Saskatchewan Medical Association. Competitive overhead rate charged.

Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience. Remuneration range for a Pathologist in Alberta is $364,597.00 to $424,123.00.  Relocation assistance is provided, when applicable.

Remuneration is in accordance with AHS contractor agreements.

$250-$400K+

Fee for service. The physician is responsible for purchasing health and insurance benefits. In partnership with the Alberta Medical Association, AHS helps facilitate the retention benefit program for physicians. This program is used to encourage retention by giving physicians a financial incentive if they billed more than $80,000 in clinical income the previous calendar year and are still working as of January 1 of the current calendar year. Alberta Medical Association's Continuing Medical Education (CME) program reimburses physicians for expenses incurred during education sessions through an agreement between the Alberta Medical Association and Alberta Health. The annual allotment of $2,562.50 carries forward for three years.

Remuneration at this time will be on a fee-for service basis with billing directly to Alberta Health.

Remuneration is on a fee-for-service basis and is competitive with other North American jurisdictions.

Clinic billing via fee-for-service (FFS) or LFP payment model; LFP take-home per clinic day typically $1,200–$1,400. On-call billing currently FFS (new on-call billing option expected by Summer 2025). Clinic receives daily on-call stipend (~$550 for a 24-hr weekday, ~$800 for a 24-hr weekend). Clinic does not pay overhead.
