Job Description

Surrey Memorial Hospital is seeking three dynamic full-time community-based obstetrician and gynecologists. We are looking for two full-time OBGYNs, and one full-time obstetrician (that does not include major OR time but would have access to sedation OR time if interested).

Our current team values collaboration, shared responsibility, and mutual support - with two OBGYNs on-site at any given time, you will enjoy both autonomy and strong peer support.

As part of this role, you will provide:

- Comprehensive obstetric care (antepartum, labour and delivery, postpartum)
- Gynaecological services, including surgical and clinic-based care
- Shared call schedule in a collegial environment
- Opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and leadership

Why Surrey Memorial Hospital & Surrey, BC?

- Surrey is highly diverse, with a large immigrant population and is rapidly growing with an anticipated 50% increase in population size over the next 20 years.
- Surrey Memorial is a busy hospital (largest acute care setting in Fraser Health) serving a growing and diverse community, offering excellent clinical exposure and procedural volume.
- Our OBGYN team is young, energetic, and committed to collaborative care - you will join a supportive network ready to welcome you.
- Surrey, BC, offers a high quality of life with beautiful natural surroundings, proximity to Vancouver, and a culturally rich, family-friendly environment.

This position will have full obstetrical and gynecology privileges at Surrey Memorial Hospital and outpatient gynecologic privileges at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. Active participation in the obstetrics and gynecology call rotations at Surrey Memorial Hospital is a requirement for this position.

As a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology, UBC. This is an excellent time for US-trained OBGYNs to consider relocating, thanks to significant recent regulatory changes in British Columbia, as you are eligible for full speciality class licensure based on being certified as an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member.

Located in Metro Vancouver, Surrey is a beautiful and rapidly growing community within the Fraser Health Authority. Surrey Memorial Hospital performs over 6,000 deliveries per year including deliveries by our local family practice providers and midwifery groups.

Closing date: February 26, 2026.

Anticipated start date: May 1, 2026 or sooner (is negotiable depending on availability).

Qualifications: CMPA, CPSBC eligible, FRCSC eligible

Compensation: Fee for service | MOCAP
