Join a Collaborative Surgical Practice in Northern Ontario

St. Joseph's General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) is seeking a full-time General Surgeon to join our collaborative and supportive surgical team. This position offers a rewarding community-based surgical practice with dedicated operating room time, outpatient clinics, and a balanced on-call schedule.

Start Date: Flexible

Practice Includes

• Full-time General Surgery practice
•  Approximately five operating room (OR) days and five clinic days every two weeks
• Two weeks of on-call coverage per month
• Opportunity to participate in surgical assistant call for additional experience and income

 Compensation

• 100% OHIP Fee-for-Service billings
• HOCC stipend
• Competitive recruitment incentives
• Relocation and community incentives available
• Complimentary accommodation provided during the first year while on call (within the required 20-minute response time)
• Overhead structure and anticipated monthly billings will be discussed with shortlisted candidates

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in General Surgery
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Eligible for hospital privileges at St. Joseph's General Hospital

 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MEDITECH Expanse ONE EMR (training provided)
•  Additional training in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and/or ERCP is considered an asset
