Job Description
The communities of Perth (pop. 6,000) and Smiths Falls (pop. 10,000) are seeking a geographical full time General Internist.
The Perth- Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH) is two site acute care community hospital, serving a regional population of 66,000. We are located one hour from Kingston and Ottawa, along the Big Rideau LTake in the Rideau Lakes System. Position/Roles:
- Provision of medical consultative services for both Perth and Smiths Falls sites (Emergency Department / Inpatients) as well as area primary care physicians. Provision of care for level 2 ICU ( 8 beds). Supervise and interpret stress tests; interpret ECG/PFT/Holter, and perform. Provide HOME call services for ED and Inpatients with HOCC call stipend. Opportunities to attend hospital clinics: Vascular Protection/Stroke Prevention Clinic, Peri-Op Clinic.
- You will join a team of 4 internists
Hospital Facilities:
- 24/7 Emergency and laboratory services. Level 2 ICU (4 beds @ each site) / GP hospitalist are MRP. EMR / CT / PACs, MRI /Cardiovascular Protection Clinic/Peri-op Clinic /Echocardiography / Stress Testing/ PFT. Excellent surgical specialty support available locally: Anesthesia/General Surgery/ OB/Gyn / Ortho / Urology. Physiatry is also available.
- Tertiary care centres 1 hour away in Kingston and Ottawa, with full range of sub-specialists available for support.
- Opportunity for participation in post graduate education.
Qualifications
- Independent registration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified /FRCPC
