Job Title: General Practitioner (GP) – Corporate and Individual Episodic Care
Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Eligibility: Canadian or Foreign-trained physician looking to emigrate and licensed to practice in Ontario.
Compensation: OHIP (publicly funded) and non-OHIP-related services
Modern integrated (paramedical + Corporate health) seeks to add three full time GP's or GP Derms.
Estimated 8000 patients without a GP in the IMMEDIATE vicinity:
Durand is in its fifth year of operation and is located adjacent to St. Joseph's Hospital (McMaster Hamilton Health Sciences affiliate), Hamilton, Ontario in one of the more chic south downtown areas of the City. Restaurants (James Street South & Augusta Street), the provincial transit GO Station (Hamilton Centre) and the architecturally spectacular Durand neighbourhood featuring pre-confederation residences and offices.
Durand Health is launching a Family practice with future pharmacy to complement its existing Corporate health and Annual Health Assessment business, its team of 20+ paramedicals and a future onsite dispensary at its Young Street Facility and possibly also at its 14 Duke Street, Hamilton property. The successful candidate with collaborate with existing physicians and nurse staff and provide OHIP (provincially funded services) with the option of one day/week of providing preventive health assessments for corporate clients (OHIP for covered services and private pay for non-OHIP covered services). An onsite preventive care internal medicine specialist focused on Chronic Disease prevention and management is also available in support of patient needs.
The facility is beautifully renovated with state of the art office, facilities and onsite paid parking for guests. Significantly, there are over 8,000 patients in the area who are without a GP. Hamilton has the lowest unemployment levels in Ontario and is a regional health care centre. Opportunity for rostered or split billing plus part time private pay for Corporate health services.
Job Description:
Seeking an experienced physician to join our 20+ team of medical and paramedical professionals. At our clinic, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population in a supportive and state-of-the-art facility.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive episodic care, including patient consultations, examinations, and treatment of acute conditions. Perform minor procedures and preventive care.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely medical records using our electronic Health record (EHR) system.
Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree.
Valid license to practice in Ontario (CPSO) OR immediately with Ontario equivalency.
Certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or equivalent.
Strong clinical skills and a patient-centred approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
