Lady Minto Hospital is a general hospital located in Northern Ontario.  It is a 69-bed hospital (33 med/surg and 37 LTC beds) and is over 100 kms away from its nearest referral centre, Timmins and District Hospital.  Lady Minto Hospital has an active general surgery department which has been "operating" with 1 General Surgeon and 1 GP/Anesthetist, and support staff.  The O.R. suite keeps busy tending to gall bladders, hernias, scopes, carpal tunnels, lesion removals, some plastic surgery, and in emergency situations, traumatic amputations.  The scope of the O.R. services is very dependent on the General Surgeon's practice, and there is certainly a great deal of opportunity for the new Surgeon coming into the role.  Lady Minto Hospital is recruiting 1 General Surgeon to replace a retirement.
