The Minor Surgey Center Oakville is a practise located near the new Oakville Hospital that performs excisions of skin cancers, lumps and bumps (lipomas/cysts/skin tags/etc) and minor hand surgeries such as carpal tunnel releases and trigger fingers. We have an oustanding staff of over 20 surgeons. We have 6 functioning minor procedure rooms where the surgeries are performed under local anesthesia.

We are looking for a part time family doctors to help as surgical assistants every Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a fee for service structure where the assistant will directly bill OHIP and the sugical assitant will keep 100% of billings. Typical days are 9am to 4pm or 10am to 5pm with a 30 mintue lunch break.

Expected duties are prepping and drapping, holding retractors, cutting sutures, applying dressings and helping the nurse with room turnover. It is a positive if the assistant can suture, however we are always happy to teach.
