We are a friendly group of comprehensive-care FHG physicians with really nice patients in the Roncesvalles Queen West area looking for locum coverage for vacations.  The next period we need coverage for is November 6 to December 12, 2025.   Ideal coverage would be on Tues evenings and Thurs and Fri daytime, with optional Mon, Wed or Sat. There is some flexibility to the exact hours as I have a longterm locum who can only cover Thurs and Fri for this time period and is willing to share with someone that is only wanting part-time. Evening and Saturday shifts provide extra bonus income and are generally very relaxed.  No call, OB, ER or hospital work needed.  

Average of 4 to 6 patients can easily be seen per hour due to clinic efficiency and easy patient panel, with minimal paperwork or off-site charting.  No unpaid phone calls, texts or emails expected from patients.  Messages are all screened through the front desk and you only have to interact with booked patients during your working hours.  We use Avaros, which is a version of Oscar EMR but better supported, with good remote access from home.  

The office space is modern, airy, and physician-designed.  It has an efficient layout and is well-equipped for all types of procedures. All six exam rooms have computers with internet and printers.  The clinic is a corner suite with beautiful views of the lake from the shared doctors' office, onsite lab/triage room, and some exam rooms. There is also a private washroom and kitchenette area for your use.  

We are located in the Sunnyside Medical Arts Building with pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory with ECG on the ground floor.  It is located in the desirable Roncesvalles neighbourhood near High Park and Queen St West. Two TTC lines stop at the front door and there is free reserved underground parking for you.   We are only a couple blocks from St. Joseph's Health Centre and have a good working relationship with specialists in the area as well as downtown.

We have experienced MOAs/lab technicians who know our patients and specialists well.  They do all preparation for encounters including BP and measurements, pap histories, preparing requisitions, drawing up vaccines and setting up procedure trays. They can independently perform injections, venipuncture, urine dips, pregnancy tests, rapid strep tests, and Holter monitor set-ups. 

The overhead structure is based on percentage split and OHIP payments are made directly to you, not the group.  We have a strict payment policy for missed appointments and uninsured services, with almost 100% patient compliance, which adds a substantial amount to your OHIP income. 

The FHG group is a collegial one with shared values and excellent cooperation.  We have all refined our practices over time to ensure a relatively easy workday and low overall stress.  This group of doctors have been very helpful to previous locums in terms of advice about patient care, computer help, and billing.  Previous locums have returned many times and some have joined on with us regularly after locuming.  If a good fit, there is opportunity to join the practice and curate a roster from the overwhelming number of requests from people asking to become new patients.  References available if wanting to consider joining us.
