Responsibilities/Duties:
Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Hospital Medical Director (FMD) - Strathcona Community Hospital (STCH).
This 0.15 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Associate Corridor Medical Lead (ACML), Suburban Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Hospital Medical Director (HMD) provides strategic leadership and oversight of physicians and clinical services at STCH within the Edmonton Corridor. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the daily operations of the physician team and ensuring high‑quality clinical performance.
- Monitoring quality indicators, performance metrics, and supporting continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with teams across the Edmonton Corridor to ensure alignment and integration of services.
- Engaging with the Sherwood Park PCN and other relevant Edmonton‑area PCNs to support coordinated care.
- Ensuring best practices from the corridor are effectively adapted to the suburban environment.
- Working in partnership with the Site Director.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
