DKT includes a brand new ambulatory care centre, surgical services center, 84 medical/surgical inpatients beds in single patient rooms, a new medical device reprocessing unit and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program. Phase two is set to be completed in December 2021 and will involve the renovation in the current hospital to allow the expansion of the emergency department four times its current size.
