Internal Medicine/Critical Care Specialist – (Full-Time)
Primary compensation type: Alternate Payment Plan
Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) is currently seeking an Internal Medicine / Critical Care Specialist in Cobourg, Ontario. The successful candidate will join a vibrant Critical Care Team with complementary sub-specialty interests. Opportunities for Locum coverage will be considered on a case-by-case basis, including resident candidates and year 4/5 trainees.
Responsibilities
Practice opportunities include in-patient Internal Medicine / Respirology / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) coverage as Most Responsible Physician (MRP), in addition to in-patient consultation from the Emergency Department and the Hospitalist service. The successful candidate will share the role of primary physician (MRP) for NHH's 10-bed ICU for adult medical patients, participate in 24/7 on-call group scheduling supporting the hospital at-large, and have access to a range of on-site ambulatory care clinics, supports and services.
Remuneration
Compensation will be based on the Alternative Funding Agreement (AFA) and on-call stipend through the Hospital On-Call Coverage Program (HOCC). Vacation relief is supported through group colleague coverage.
Qualifications
Fully independent registration (or eligibility for same) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and experience working in a team environment.

Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) delivers a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Acute services include emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical care, and palliative care while post-acute services include restorative care and rehabilitation.
