Long-Term Locum Family Physician — Clarington Medical Clinic

Clarington Medical Clinic is seeking a dedicated, patient-centred Family Physician for a long-term Tuesday locum position at our established Family Health Organization (FHO) in Newcastle, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality primary care in a well-supported, collaborative practice while maintaining a predictable weekly schedule. The clinic serves a welcoming community and offers the resources needed to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Position Details

• Position: Long-term Family Physician Locum
• Location: Newcastle, Ontario
• Schedule: Every Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Lunch break: One hour
• Compensation: $1,000+ per day
• Practice model: Established FHO

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Deliver preventive care, screening, counselling, and immunizations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging.
• Develop individualized care plans and coordinate specialist referrals as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records.
• Collaborate with clinic physicians, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to provide efficient, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Independent practice licence, or eligibility for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• CCFP certification or equivalent.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an established, collaborative FHO environment.
