The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a position within the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics. This clinical locum position is a full-time 1.0 FTE for the period 01 October 2025 through 31 December 2026 and can be divided into separate weeks for different applicants, if needed.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant(s) will be offered a full-time position (1.0 FTE) with AHS, which may be split amongst two or more candidates, depending on the interest in the position and the needs of the Division.  The candidate(s) will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as long term care for children with rheumatic diseases. In addition to clinical care, the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology residents, among other trainees.  The Division is home to active educational scholarship and research programs providing opportunities and mentorship for academic pursuits. We are active collaborators in multicenter research through the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) network, among other groups.  The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives. This position will 100% clinical service (including clinical service and clinical teaching) the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members.  Candidates are also expected to attend weekly team meetings and other meetings of our Division during their weeks of service.

Applicants must hold an MD and have completed a specialty residency in Pediatric Rheumatology. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and hold appropriate liability coverage.
