Job Description
Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and collegial radiologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team in a community-based hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a radiologist who values high-quality patient care, collaborative practice, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a close-knit medical community.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients, working collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and high-quality interpretation of diagnostic imaging examinations, including:
- General radiography
- Ultrasound
- CT
- MRI
- Mammography and breast imaging
- Provide consultation to referring physicians regarding imaging selection, interpretation, and follow-up recommendations.
- Perform image-guided procedures appropriate to the physician's training, privileges, and hospital resources.
Qualifications
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Diagnostic Radiology
- Holds an Independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Appropriate training and experience in diagnostic radiology.
- Ability to provide a broad range of general radiology services appropriate to a community hospital environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and consultation skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred care, clinical quality, and collegial teamwork.
Practice Environment
The successful candidate will join a supportive Diagnostic Imaging department serving a diverse community. The hospital provides a broad range of acute and ambulatory services, with radiology playing an integral role in emergency care, inpatient medicine, surgery, and outpatient services.
The position offers the opportunity to practise broad-based radiology while working closely with referring clinicians and participating in a collaborative medical staff environment.
Initial commitment: November 1–December 31, 2026
Extension: There is an opportunity to lengthen the appointment beyond December. The schedule can be discussed and tailored to the successful candidate's availability and the needs of the department.
