Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba and the Child Health Program, Shared Health, Inc. is comprised of more than 100 geographical full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties. The Section of Neonatology is highly regarded for excellence in patient care, education and research along with innovation in POCUS and hemodynamics. The Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Women’s Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) serve the population of Manitoba in addition to providing care to critically ill newborns in Northwestern Ontario and areas of Nunavut. There is a thriving pediatric and neonatal-perinatal residency program, a robust child health transport team and comprehensive access to all pediatric subspecialities. 

The University of Manitoba is a major research university located in the city of Winnipeg and province of Manitoba. The Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology Program collaborate closely with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba to improve the lives and care for children in the province.

The Section of Neonatology invites applications for multiple full-time Neonatologist positions to commence employment starting as early as March 1, 2026. All interested applicants are welcome to apply, with expertise in Basic or Clinical Research, Medical Education, Neonatal Follow-up, Hemodynamics and Neurocritical care being an asset. 

These will be full-time, non-GFT positions at Assistant/Associate Professor rank commensurate on qualifications and experience. Successful candidates will join a  collegial section of 16 neonatologists  and will share in the inpatient service coverage and teaching responsibilities. Compensation is provided through a fixed, sessional model.

Applicants must possess specialty qualifications in Neonatology in the country of current practice, and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.  Certification in Neonatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
