Job Description

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist – Full-Time

Join our team in beautiful Northern Ontario!

The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking a full-time Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our innovative, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Timmins and District Hospital is looking for a fourth full-time member. The department has a Level II nursery, with approximately 600 annual deliveries. TADH provides equitable access to operating room time and reasonable on-call expectations. The hospital also staffs on-call Pediatricians and provides excellent access to diagnostics.

You will be joining a team that provides exceptional patient and family-driven care, in a supportive trauma-informed, and culturally safe manner.

There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join us in our Mission: Providing Exemplary Care to Northerners.

Position Requirements

Candidates must:

  • have (or be eligible for) a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • be (or eligible to be) licensed to practice as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Province of Ontario.
  • have (or eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
  • have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.

Remuneration

The clinician operates on a combination of Fee-for-Service, a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan, and an On-Call remuneration model.

Incentives

  • The Timmins and District Hospital provides an incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
  • Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
  • Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $94,168 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice in Timmins.

About the Hospital and Community
