Job Description
Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN, pronounced wren) is currently seeking to hire a fulltime Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon to fill an upcoming vacancy in the Kitchener-Waterloo area..
Waterloo Region is a mid-sized community in the southwestern Ontario greenbelt. We have all the amenities of a large multicultural urban centre with the warmth and tight-knit community associated with smaller towns. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Ontario and a leading technology hub in Canada with tremendous growth potential. It is home to 2 of the highest ranked universities in the country.
WRHN @ Midtown (formally Grand River Hospital) and WRHN @ Queen’s Blvd (formally St. Mary’s General Hospital) have undergone a voluntary merger and have well-defined and complementary clinical programs to serve both the local community and the region. Each hospital has acute care ED services with patient volumes reaching approximately 70,000 visits/annum. Queen’s Blvd is a Regional Cardiac Care Centre and a Centre of Excellence for Respiratory and Thoracic Care. WRHN @ Midtown hosts several regional programs including the Regional Cancer Centre, Hepatobiliary Surgery, and stroke, renal, pediatric and mental health programs.
The hospital is seeking an Otolaryngologist - Head & Neck surgeon who will work with the other six local ENT's, to provide specialized medical and surgical care for patients presenting with a wide range of disorders of the head and neck. In addition, the ENT Program provides regional on-call coverage, which includes Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge and is comprised of 9 regional otolaryngologists in total.
The candidate must be eligible for independent practice licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and hold certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery.
