Job Description
The Department of Psychiatry is searching for locum coverage for on-call inpatient psychiatry.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital, and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Complex Continuing Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of the Psychiatry Locum work:
The service of General Psychiatry provides a variety of inpatient services for patients in Timmins and across the District. The inpatient unit consists of 22 adult beds for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a variety of mental illnesses.
Remuneration
Remuneration is supported through the Northern Specialist Locum Program (NSLP). This includes a $1,668.87 on-call stipend and a $363.57 honorarium per day. NSLP also supports travel, travel time, and accommodations.
Total compensation is equal to $2,032.44 per day.
Position Requirements
Candidates must:
- have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Psychiatry.
- be licensed to practice as a Psychiatrist in the Province of Ontario.
- have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
- have an independent practice license with the CPSO
- have an active OHIP billing number
- possess excellent clinical skills.
- have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
