Job Description
Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking a seventh Full-Time General Surgeon to join the team.
The current group includes surgeons with fellowship training in MIS/Foregut, Colorectal Surgery, and Breast/ Surgical Oncology. Fellowship training would be an asset but not a requirement. The successful candidate must be an RCPSC certified General Surgeon and licensed to practice in Ontario. Operating Room, Endoscopy and Minor Procedures time is shared equally amongst the group. Each surgeon provides 1 in 7 on-call coverage in an Acute Care Surgery model that includes two half-days per week of dedicated ACS OR time.
CMH is a busy 217-bed community hospital, with a tight-knit and collegial medical staff. A Capital Redevelopment Project was recently completed. A new wing including a state-of-the-art Operating Room, Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit was built in 2020. The remaining inpatient units were completely refurbished in 2025. CMH features a high-volume Emergency Room, a closed ICU, RCPSC Anesthesia, an Oncology Clinic and a full complement of medical and surgical subspecialties. This is further supported by Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services, including CT, MRI, and 24/7 Radiology coverage. We are affiliated with the Waterloo Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University and regularly participate in teaching medical students and residents.
