Yúustway Health Services Department, Squamish Nation is looking to contract a Family Physician for its expanding primary care clinic in West Vancouver The Yúustway Health and Wellness Department provides members with the best possible support to access government health coverage as well as public and preventative health services. These include primary care, addictions and adult counselling, alternative healing, community nursing and home care support services for the elderly and the sick. The Yúustway Health and Wellness Department also provides a variety of support services to families and children (pre and post-natal care, HIV education and support, solvent abuse, mental health needs.
The Kaľnúmet Primary Care team is an important addition to the Yúustway Health & Wellness Department was named in 2015 by Squamish Nation Elders to mean ‘believe in ourselves’ to support the fact that Squamish Nation proactively expanded into the field of primary care. By wrapping services around our community members, we hope to continue to contribute to their health and wellness.
The Kaľnúmet Clinic has had several successes with the significant expansion of the clinic services. We operate 5 days a week, with comprehensive primary health care team including GPs, Naturopath Doctor, RN, social workers and MOAs. Family physicians working in the clinic will be expected to manage the holistic range of primary care usually presenting to a family physicians office. The physician will have a unique opportunity to contribute to holistic approach of health and wellness. The position is initially for up to 3.5 days per week with opportunity to expand in the future.
