Opportunity for full- or part-time physician at well established full-service family practice that has been in Nanaimo for over 40 years. Very flexible hours and days with no walk-in, weekend, or after hours required. No on-call duties.

Currently 10 physicians in practice, most of whom practice part-time in clinic and part-time elsewhere (ER, urgent care, maternity, youth clinic etc). We are a mix of experienced (>25 years working) and new (<5 years working) physicians, and are an extremely collegial and supportive group. Common ‘bullpen’ area where physicians sit, but private office space available to make phone calls etc during day if preferred. Approx. 2 exam rooms available per doctor while seeing patients in person. Mix of tele-health and in-person appointments as determined by physician.

Very experienced and supportive front staff. Allied health also available in clinic including Social Work, Counsellor, Clinical Pharmacist, and Respiratory Therapist doing spirometry.

May choose to start own panel of patients, or see ‘overflow’ patients from existing clinic population. Physicians at this clinic practice a shared care model, which you must be willing to contribute to. Each physician holds their own panel of patients, but also provides cross cover for urgent appointments from all existing clinic patients. This allows excellent fast access for all patients. Cross coverage also available within clinic for vacation/time off, without requiring you to find a locum.

Low monthly fixed overhead. Oscar EMR with Cortico add-on allowing online booking and direct patient messaging options if desired.
