Job Description
Guelph Family Health Team is presently seeking psychiatrists for full or part-time positions to provide assessment and treatment including psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy in a collaborative care model. Compensation is based on Ontario Health Specialists reimbursement for Family Health Teams combining a stipend model and OHIP-billable services.
Guelph Family Health Team provides team-based primary care to 130,000 patients in Guelph and surrounding area. Guelph FHT delivers this through comprehensive services – connecting physicians, nurse practitioners, chronic disease nurses, mental health counsellors, dietitians, and more – so patients get the right care when they need it. Guelph FHT prioritizes patient-centered practices and approaches to empower patients to manage their health.
The successful candidate will provide clinical services and support the ongoing process of building mental health and addictions resources in our community in a collaborative care model. An important aspect of the model is supporting quality review and improvement of our mental health services, while demonstrating professionalism in accordance with provincial and national standards of psychiatric practice. Expertise in geriatric populations, addictions, forensic or consultation and liaison psychiatry or other subspecialty training is not a requirement but is valued experience.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a certificate of registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Hold a certification number from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry
- Hold an Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) physician billing number
- Have a specialist designation in the Ministry’s Corporate Provider Database (CPDB)
- Have current physician liability coverage under the Canadian Medical Protective Association
We appreciate all interest in positions, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
