The Opportunity
Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) is seeking qualified and collaborative Family Practice Anesthetists or Anesthesiologists to join our Anesthesia Department. What you will do
As a member of the Anesthesia team, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing anesthesia services for general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, and laparoscopic procedures
- Supporting ventilator care and critical care in the ICU and Emergency Department
- Delivering epidural and pain management support in the Labour and Delivery Unit (approx. 340 births annually)
- Participating in on-call rotation as required
- Contributing to safe, patient-focused care and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals across departments
What you bring
- Certification (or eligibility) with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (with Certificate of Added Competence in Family Practice Anesthesia)
- OR certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anesthesiology
- Licensure (or eligibility) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Written and spoken proficiency in English; bilingualism is considered an asset
