The Department of Internal Medicine at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is currently seeking qualified individuals to provide locum coverage throughout 2023.

TBRHSC has two new cardiac catheterization labs, and a busy program with approximately 2000 diagnostic angiograms and 750 percutaneous coronary interventions performed annually. We have a 24/7 primary PCI program, and are currently partnered with the University Health Network (Toronto) to develop a local cardiac surgery program.

Our hospital is a 395 funded bed acute care facility which provides coverage to a regional population base of 250,000 people. Delivering all services daily including acting as the Regional Trauma Centre and Cancer Referral Centre for the Northwestern Ontario region with plans to include Cardiac Surgery by 2026.

The candidate must be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Our locums are supported through the Ministry's, Northern Specialist Locum Program (Respite Tenens). This program offers reimbursement of flights and accommodations.
